Coleman Roadtrip
Do you really have to replace lava rock / ceramic briquettes in Gas Grills or do they last forever?
Been debating this…….don’t you really just need to replace them if they are crumbling or should you totally replace them when you are revamping your grill…..hmmmmm
You need to replace the heat stones only if they are crumbling. Otherwise, turn them over and they will burn clean again.
Don’t worry about the ashes and grease burning off. Once it is gone, it is gone. And if your grill isn’t getting hot enough to kill any germs on it, the grill isn’t getting hot enough to kill the bugs on your food.
Most of the books on grilling say the burning grease and ashes are what gives grilled food it’s smoky flavor.
